“Because rewards could be found among the chores. Little pieces of enjoyment that would come to mean something. Darkness always gave away to the light if given time, and wile some heartbreaks may never fully heal, living allowed there to be space for new sources of happiness and pleasure.”
-Jennifer L. Armentrout
Bio
I began my career in mental health working at a substance abuse facility in Santa Barbara, CA, supporting adult women with co-occurring mental health disorders. After earning my master’s degree in 2022, I moved to Utah and began working at a private practice in Salt Lake City. There, I gained experience treating teens, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and disordered eating. I later worked at Newport Academy, a residential treatment center for adolescents (ages 13–17), where I supported teens and their families in creating meaningful, lasting change.
I have experience using CBT, DBT, and ACT, and I am trained in EMDR, ABFT, and ERP.
Currently, I specialize in working with teens and young adults who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, and self-doubt. You might find yourself constantly second-guessing your decisions, questioning your worth, or repeating patterns that leave you feeling drained or “not enough.”
In therapy, we don’t just talk about what’s wrong, we work to understand why these patterns are happening and how to actually shift them. Together, we’ll untangle negative beliefs, make sense of your emotional responses, and build practical tools that create real change in your daily life and relationships.
My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. You don’t need to have the “right words” or everything figured out before you walk in. I take a person-centered approach, meaning I tailor our work to fit your unique needs, goals, and experiences.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading (always open to new recommendations), spending time with friends, trying new restaurants, hiking, horseback riding, walking my dog River, and skiing in the winter.
