About Krista Clement
Are you tired of your pain story? What would it be like to step out of that tired and creaky narrative and generate something different? I think therapy is inherently creative, and my role as your therapist is to empower you in building a life that you love.
For the past nine years, I’ve worked with a wide array of clients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including folks of all ages/life orientations: Individuals, groups, couples, adolescents, families, and those in addiction recovery and both LGBTQ and Polyamory communities. My approach is warm and non-judgmental, but I will push you to confront areas in your life that are keeping you stuck in your pain narrative. Trauma, PTSD, chemical and sexual/relationship addiction, and betrayal trauma are special focuses of mine. I enjoy working with clients who have experienced trauma because post-trauma growth and resilience is in reach for those of us willing to put in the work for recovery.
I have a background in the Arts and Humanities and my therapeutic orientation is experiential/interdisciplinary. I enjoy working with various modalities including DBT, CBT, Expressive Arts, and Jungian Analysis, but I tailor my approach to fit my client’s needs. I’m trained in EMDR and a newer and exciting evidence-based trauma therapy known as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is a focused eye movement therapy that produces quick, effective and safe results in treating anxiety, depression, phobias, relationship issues, and grief. My clients who have experienced ART have said that they are impressed by it’s effectiveness and swiftness in treating complicated issues.
Although I’m a native of Salt Lake City, I’ve lived in many different places including Germany, East Coast, and the Northwest. I practice self-care by spending time with loved ones, dancing, yoga, writing, playing music, and hiking along the gorgeous Wasatch Front! You don’t have to go it alone. Let’s work together to spin the pain of life into golden resilience
